Charles Henninger Srodes, M.D.
Charles Henninger Srodes, M.D., F.A.C.P., received his B.A. at Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University in New York. He completed his fellowship at Columbia University, his first-year residency program in internal medicine at Duke University Hospital, and his second-year residency program in internal medicine at Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh. In addition, he completed a fellowship in hematology at Presbyterian University Hospital.
Among his honors and awards, Dr. Srodes was the recipient of the Gold Headed Cane Award in 1988. The honor is bestowed annually to the member of The Western Pennsylvania Hospital Medical Staff who best exemplifies the qualities of physician, teacher and investigator. He was also awarded the Volunteer of the Year from the Pennsylvania Division of the American Cancer Society in 1988.
Dr. Srodes currently serves as Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and Temple Medical School. He is board certified in hematology, oncology and internal medicine. He is a member of several professional and scientific societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. He is also the author of several publications, and principle investigator for several clinical trials.
Dr. Srodes is the President and senior physician of West Penn Allegheny Oncology Network.
